For the ninth edition of the Aentwerk Spring Concert, Casco Phil places refinement and elegance alongside revolution and drama. With his Variations on a Rococo Theme, Opus 33<\/em>, Tchaikovsky looks back to the eighteenth century\u2014not out of nostalgia, but out of fascination with clarity and proportion. In a series of contrasting variations, a subtle interplay unfolds between virtuosity and lyricism, between ornamentation and underlying melancholy. The composer explores every possibility of the solo instrument, from intimate chamber music to brilliant projection against the orchestra. With Ukrainian cellist Aleksey Shadrin\u2014who was awarded fourth prize at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in 2022\u2014the stage welcomes a soloist who combines technical ease with stylistic refinement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where Tchaikovsky seeks inspiration in the past, Ludwig van Beethoven resolutely looks to the future. His Third Symphony, nicknamed \u201cEroica,\u201d<\/em> resounds as a thunderous milestone in which Beethoven definitively broke with the conventions of his time. Revolutionary, heroic, and intensely dramatic, the Eroica<\/em> marks the beginning of Romanticism and reveals a composer who has fully developed his own musical signature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a socially engaged organization, Casco Phil is committed to supporting social initiatives.
