[Lost & Found]

Opera at the heart of the station — during peak hours

"Opera in the middle of rush hour"

During short residencies in railway stations as part of the EUROPALIA International Arts Festival, librettist Gaea Schoeters and composer Annelies Van Parys created short operas inspired by the travel stories of commuters and passers-by.

Musicians of Casco Phil and singers from IOAcademy, under the direction of Benjamin Haemhouts, brought these mini-operas to life during rush hour in the stations of Antwerp, Brussels, Rotterdam and London.

“Contemporary opera sometimes has a reputation for being rather challenging, but that is not the case with Lost & Found. (…) The music has a strong sense of rhythm and stays with you.”
