[New Year’s concert]

Casco Phil will see in the new year with a generous helping of opera: the top arias and harmonious duets from Mozart’s masterpieces Così fan tutte, Le nozze di Figaro and Die Zauberflöte; Rossini’s hilarious / belly laughs Italian buffa, the lyrical belcanto of Donizetti; the youthful energy of the Fledermaus overture and the coquettish kisses of Franz Lehar’s Giuditta. Together with soloists Hanne Roos and Alberto Martinez, we take you on a journey through repertoire that will move you deeply then have you crying tears of laughter. And while the concert is centred on opera, of course you couldn’t have a January concert without Johann Strauss’ waltzes, polkas and the Radetzky March. A delightful New Year’s letter set to music to start 2023 with a smile.
