[Opening The Chapel]

The Chapel in Mariekerke reopens its doors after a thorough renovation, and Casco Phil provides a surprising and adventurous musical programme tailored to this beautiful church.

We travel back in time with Belgian composer Orlando di Lasso, who was born 100 years before the church was first rebuilt. The restored organ also gets its time in the spotlight, naturally with works by Bach. Further on the programme are some classics from the romantic repertoire.

For this opening, Benjamin Haemhouts specially composed a new work inspired by his many morning walks along the Scheldt in Mariekerke. A world premiere!
