As a socially engaged cultural organisation, Casco Phil gladly seizes every opportunity to support good causes. This year, the orchestra will perform at the eighth edition of the Spring Concert by Aentwerk, a non-profit dedicated to charitable projects.

The programme features timeless masterpieces for string orchestra. Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings is among the most iconic works of its kind. With rich harmonies, graceful waltzes and a stormy finale, it remains a favourite in the classical repertoire.

Young Benjamin Britten pushes the string ensemble’s limits in his Simple Symphony, a charming and sometimes spicy suite that draws on old dance forms.

Between these string works, Dutch violin sensation Hawijch Elders takes the audience on a journey into the operatic world. Waxman’s Carmen Fantasy, based on themes from Bizet’s opera Carmen, delivers fiery drama and dazzling virtuosity.

An inspiring evening where musical brilliance meets social commitment.
