Is there a better way to wake up than with a brisk morning walk? At least, that is what we think. If you are then served some music and poetry, a nice hot cup of coffee and a pastry, your Sunday can’t go wrong… Winter Morning Walks takes you on a walk on Sunday 8 December, at 8 am in Mariekerke (near Bornem). Casco Phil’s string quartet put together a warm and soothing programme to warm winter toes. The meditative String Quartet No. 3 by minimalist Philip Glass is paired with a number of masterpieces that achieve maximum expression with minimal means. Japanese pianist Gen Tomuro, for instance, pays tribute to Ryuichi Sakamoto, the recently deceased Japanese ‘king of minimalism’. Arvo Pärt’s haunting Für Alina completes the quest for beauty in simplicity.
